紫色大白菜是近年从国外引进的新品种。它的紫色和红色的叶子特别漂亮，而且它含有更多的花青素，也很有营养。从口感和味道上来说，紫色的大白菜比普通的大白菜要软一些，还带一点甜味。当然，稀缺性是最重要的。市场上的紫色大白菜能卖到十几块钱一斤。我们一个菜友说在当地卖一百多块钱，真叫。
不过紫甘蓝虽然稀少，但是种植管理和普通大白菜没有特别大的区别。但紫甘蓝与普通大白菜相比，成熟时个头较小，单重约3、4公斤，产量也不及普通大白菜，亩产约4000至5000公斤。
紫色大白菜的种植时间在华北地区立秋后，即8月6日至8月2日，以深圳生活网0号最佳。8月底到9月中旬华中最好，10月初华南最好。紫甘蓝全生育期约80天。种植时间也可以根据当地的环境和气候进行调整。
